Mid-level Laravel Developer

Summary

The PHP Developer will be part of a small team (3 developers, 1 product manager, 1 QA tester) which is primarily working on YUDU’s Sentinel product.

You will work closely with the product manager and development team using Scrum and Agile methodologies to craft high-impact and innovative web and mobile applications. The right person for this role will be looking to join a fun and collaborative environment creating quality software whilst maintaining excellent security standards and minimising technical debt. Your work will benefit high-profile organisations and we also encourage you to give back to the open-source community where relevant and possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new features and functions for existing products
  • Maintain coding standards and practises
  • Research and implement new technologies, tools and methods.
  • Code reviews.
  • Writing automated tests.

About the software product you will be working on

YUDU Sentinel is an SaaS, crisis communication platform delivering information and instructions in the event of cyber-attack, terrorist attack or and unforeseen event such as a protest. The Sentinel platform is used by organisations from diverse industries such as accounting, law, theatre, councils, insurance and healthcare.

Salary

Dependant on experience, circa £28K – £40K.

Security requirements

  • Will have to satisfy background security checks.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.

Location

Office is located in Clitheroe, Lancashire, UK. We will consider full remote working for the right candidate. Until the Covid-19 pandemic subsides, we will be working 100% remotely.

  • PHP – preferably the Laravel framework
  • JavaScript and JQuery knowledge
  • HTML and CSS
  • Ajax/JSON
  • Git / Github / Gitflow

  • Good communicator.

  • Server deployment and management

  • PHP Unit Testing

  • Knowledge of Bootstrap, Vue.js, Framework 7 or other front-end frameworks
  • Write clean maintainable code and follow style guidelines.
  • Able to consume 3rd party API's
  • Cypress automated testing experience.
  • AWS knowledge

Shortlisted candidates will first receive a 15-30 minute phone conversation to discuss suitability and give an opportunity for candidates to ask questions about the role.
