Announcing Video Conferencing on Sentinel – Coming Soon
Effective communication sits at the heart of incident response and operational coordination. When teams need to assess a situation, share information quickly, and make critical decisions, real-time collaboration becomes essential.
To support this, Sentinel has introduced a new Secure Video Conferencing module, expanding the platform’s capabilities and providing organisations with a dedicated space for secure operational discussions.

The module enables teams to launch and manage video conferences directly within the Sentinel platform, creating a controlled environment for collaboration during incidents, sensitive operational discussions, or cross-team coordination.
Here’s a closer look at what the new capability brings to the platform.
Real-Time Collaboration When It Matters Most
During incidents, communication needs can escalate quickly. While messaging and alerts provide important updates, many situations require real-time discussion where teams can rapidly align on priorities and next steps.
The Sentinel Video Conferencing module allows users to launch secure video conferences instantly or schedule meetings in advance. This ensures teams can quickly move from written updates to live collaboration whenever the situation demands it.
Because video conferencing is fully integrated within Sentinel, discussions can take place alongside incident information and operational updates without switching between multiple platforms.
Built for Secure Operational Discussions
Operational incidents and crisis scenarios often involve sensitive information. Sentinel’s video conferencing capability has therefore been designed with security and control at its core.
Meeting organisers can lock conferences and manage participant access, ensuring only authorised individuals are able to join discussions. Participants must request entry before joining, providing hosts with clear visibility over who is present in each session.
This level of control helps organisations maintain confidentiality while ensuring the right people are involved in critical conversations.
Collaboration at Scale
Incident response rarely involves a single team. Security teams, operations, leadership, and external specialists may all need to collaborate during a disruption.
The Sentinel Video Conferencing module supports video conferences with up to 200 participants, making it possible to bring together multiple stakeholders in a single, secure environment.
This allows organisations to maintain situational awareness across teams and ensure everyone involved in managing an incident has access to the same information.
Simple Access for Internal and External Participants
During major incidents, organisations often need to involve additional expertise quickly. External partners, consultants, or subject matter experts may all need to join discussions at short notice.
Sentinel simplifies access by allowing participants to join securely through a web browser using a simple meeting link, with no software installation required.
This removes common barriers to participation and makes it easier to involve the right people in discussions when their input is needed.
Supporting Compliance and Accountability
For many organisations, particularly those operating in regulated industries, maintaining an accurate record of incident discussions is essential.
The Sentinel Video Conferencing module includes centralised recording capabilities, with recordings automatically encrypted and securely stored. This creates an auditable record of discussions and decisions that can support compliance requirements, internal reviews, and post-incident analysis.
Strengthening Communication Resilience
While the Video Conferencing module supports everyday operational collaboration, it also plays an important role in strengthening organisational resilience.
Because conferencing takes place within the Sentinel platform, organisations have access to a secure communication channel that is separate from typical workplace tools such as Teams or Slack. This helps ensure teams can continue collaborating even if primary communication platforms are unavailable or compromised.
Replacing Sentinel’s Teleconferencing Capability
The launch of the Video Conferencing module also represents the next step in the evolution of communication within the Sentinel platform.
Sentinel previously provided a teleconferencing capability to support voice-based collaboration during incidents. While effective, the growing need for richer, real-time collaboration has driven demand for more advanced communication tools.
With the introduction of secure video conferencing, organisations now benefit from a more flexible and capable collaboration environment that supports larger groups, stronger access controls, and improved accessibility.
As a result, the new module will replace Sentinel’s existing teleconferencing capability, which will be gradually retired from the platform.
This transition provides customers with a more modern solution for coordinating discussions during incidents while continuing to support Sentinel’s core mission: enabling secure, resilient communication when it matters most.
